RateBase (“we”, “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

• Account: email address and (optionally) a display name when you sign up or use Sign in with Apple or Google.
• Camera: used only to scan barcodes. Images are not stored or transmitted.
• Location: used only when you open the Map to find stores near you. It is not stored on our servers.
• Photos: when you choose a profile picture or attach a photo to a review, only the photos you pick are uploaded.
• Content you create: reviews, favourites and products you add are stored in your account.

How we use your information

• To authenticate your account and sync your data across devices.
• To show your reviews and favourites.
• We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising profiling.

Third-party services

• Supabase — authentication and encrypted data storage.
• Apple & Google Sign-In — optional login.
• Open Food Facts / Open Beauty Facts / Open Products Facts, UPC Item DB, Icecat, Datakick — public product data.
• Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, Costco — price links (some are affiliate links).

Data retention & deletion

You can use the app without an account. If you create one, you can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Profile → Delete account, or by emailing ratebase@outlook.com.

Children

RateBase is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
